Amir Khan says break from wife ’cured him’ as he insists he won’t make ‘silly mistakes’ with other women again

AMIR Khan has promised to be the perfect husband after reconciling with wife Faryla – because he's thought about his past mistakes and is now a changed man.

The pair recently reconciled after splitting last year, after Amir, 31, accused Faryla, 26, of cheating on him with fellow boxer Anthony Joshua.

Faryal then hit back, accusing him of being the unfaithful party as the pair’s relationship breakdown played out on social media.

The pair also spent several weeks apart during Amir's recent stint Down Under for I'm A Celeb.

But Amir insists the episode has only made their marriage stronger as they wait for the arrival of their second child.

He tells The Sun Online: "Sometimes being away from each other gives you time to think, it’s sometimes a cure – because, in a way, by being away you think about what mistakes you make… sometimes you never look at your own mistakes.

"I was blamed for a lot of things. I did say silly things on social media, but it shows the power of social media.

"It shows that you have to be very careful what you say because it can just get twisted and made out different, even though I did say stupid things."

Amir says he is determined not to repeat his past mistakes – though he didn't elaborate on what those mistakes were.

He added: "It’s about learning from those mistakes, I’m a 31 year old man now, not a kid anymore.

"Sometimes on social media you can act like a youngster but I’m moving forward now and focusing on my boxing. These next couple of years are 100 per cent on that."

Amir says he took part on I'm A Celeb because he wanted the experience, insisting he wasn't interested in boosting his profile.

He added: "I don’t want to live a celebrity life, I’m not a celebrity, I did the show for me, not for celebrity.

"I wanted people to see the real side of me, and that’s going to help me in my boxing. I’m not a celebrity, I’m a normal guy, and I just love boxing."

Speaking on Good Morning Britain earlier this week, Faryal confirmed that Amir is a changed man since coming back from the jungle.

She said: "He came back from the jungle a changed man.

"He doesn't like going out any more."

She revealed, laughing, that the man in the jungle "was the real Amir".
