Casey Affleck broke his silence about his sexual harassment lawsuits last month.
Now he’s talking #MeToo.
A Variety reporter at the premiere of Affleck’s new film, The Old Man And The Gun, asked him point-blank about what he had learned from his own experience.
While this time he didn’t speak about his “unprofessional” behavior, as he called it, he did say the entire movement was teaching a lot of people:
“I mean, look, if you haven’t learned anything from all of this, then you really haven’t been paying attention, and that goes for everybody.”
He continued, while standing beside his new girlfriend, actress Floriana Lima (above):
“It’s probably a conversation that deserves a little more time than standing on a red carpet. But I would say that one of the most important lessons is to try to remain as open as you can to other perspectives and to listen to other peoples experiences and, you know, take care of one another.”
Did Casey really learn?
Should we be fêting men on the red carpet after bad behavior, even if they’ve apparently grown and changed??
