The scene featured the Connor family and Roy Cropper, who were hoping to enjoy a meal with Michelle and Robert Preston at their flat.
It started when Jenny was reminiscing about cooking for her dad when she was younger.
She said: "He used to call me his little Fanny."
As Aidan looked shocked, Roy said: "After Cradock, no doubt, one of our first celebrity chefs."
Jenny added: "I had an aunty called Francis and we all called her Fanny."
Fountain of knowledge Roy then told the table: "I believe the name became even more popular following the release of the James Mason film, Fanny by Gaslight."
Carla joked: "That was about a Victorian gynaecologist."
As Aidan then googled what they were on about, Robert piped up with: "What about sweet Fanny Adams Aidan, you must have heard that expression?"
Having found Fanny by Gaslight on his phone, Aidan showed the table and said: "I can see why the name went out of fashion."
Viewers couldn't get enough of the exchange, and took to Twitter in their droves to comment.
One wrote: "I don't normally watch @itvcorrie, but glad I did tonight…It was fully of fanny!! #corrie #fanny #adams #coronationstreet."
Another tweeted: "Why are they having a convo about Fanny's?" while a third wrote: "#CoronationStreet all this talk about fanny…#awkward".
The soap has come under fire in recent months for its dark storylines including male rape and a grooming ring, but viewers were clearly delighted by tonight's comic scenes.
One tweeted: ""Lots of fanny talking on #CoronationStreet tonight. Very funny episode" while another shared: ""I do luv the way Corry pushes it. "Fanny by gas light – about a Victorian gynecologist" Carla #CoronationStreet".
