EastEnders’ original Peter Beale and Lauren Branning reunited 8 years after exit

They famously worked together on BBC1’s EastEnders in 2010.

And now, nearly ten years on since their departure, the original actors behind Peter Beale and Lauren Branning reunited, this week.

The pair – Madeline Duggan and Thomas Law – were spotted reconnecting at a wedding in London on Saturday, where they were both reception guests.

Madeline, who was replaced in 2010 by Jacqueline Jossa, shared a picture on the meeting on Instagram with the caption: "Peter and Lauren bump into each other at a wedding eight years later."

Wearing a green dress, the brunette looked fantastic as she playfully flashed her leg at the camera.

Meanwhile, Thomas – who was replaced by actor Ben Hardy – was suitably dapper and sharp-suited for the occasion.

The rare post racked-up more than 900 likes in a few hours and generated plenty of comments from soap fans, who clearly miss their presence in Albert Square.

"I prefer this Peter and Lauren," said one fan, while another quipped: "This is just the best thing ever, OMG".

Since leaving the long-running BBC soap, Madeline has appeared in a host of TV shows, such as Silent Witness and By Any Means.

In 2016 she starred in The Tunnel opposite Stephen Dillane.

Meanwhile, Thomas recently starred in an advert for Lynx deodorant.

Sharing the clip on his Instagram page, he captioned it: "Filmed this clip towards the end of last year with a fun, great working team out in Warsaw Poland!".
