Ian Beale is busy trying to double cross Masood Ahmed when he notices the opening of the new lot is attracting a lot of attention in the Square.
The fish and chip king is left reeling when he sees his old adversary Max is behind the new venture.
No one else is particularly pleased by Max’s return and they’re even more hostile when the grieving father drops a huge bombshell.
Mick and Linda Carter make it clear that he’s not welcome in The Vic.
Mel Owen takes pity on him and offers him the use of E20 instead which leaves Mel’s love interest and Max’s brother Jack irritated.
Stacey Fowler is shocked to see her former lover back on the Square but is in no way prepared for what he has to tell her.
Later Sharon Mitchell pays Max a visit and tells him that Phil is not going to be happy that he’s back in Walford and has reopened the car lot – which he actually gave to Jay Brown.
The car lot was one of the businesses Max tricked out of the residents , along with the villainous Weyland & Co.
In fairness he did try to hand it back to Jay when everything went pear shaped for him but Jay wasn’t interested.
Anyway, Max doesn’t care what Phil thinks and does everything he can to try and get his life back together.
