Ed Sheeran took to Instagram on Tuesday night to confirm that he will not be performing live for the foreseeable future after fracturing his right wrist and left elbow in a bike accident.
Alongside a photo of his cast, the 26 year old singer announced the news that fans feared, with the help of an an aide who typed the message on Ed’s behalf.
“A visit to my doctors confirmed fractures in my right wrist and left elbow that will leave me unable to perform live concerts for the immediate future”, he told his devastated fans.

“Sadly, this means that the following shows will not be able to go ahead as planned: Taipei, Osaka, Seoul, Tokyo and Hong Kong.
“I’m waiting to see how the healing progresses before we have to decide on shows beyond that.
“Please stay tuned for more details. PS – Ed isn’t typing this as he has both arms casted/bandaged”, explained the caption.

The announcement, which will be devastating to fans, comes after Ed was “rushed to hospital” after colliding with a car and being knocked off his bike.
The Shape Of You singer was riding his bike in London when he was hit by a vehicle.
Ed Sheeran broke his arm during the incident, admitting it could affect his upcoming tour.

Taking to Instagram on Monday, he shared a snap of his arms to show his 15.7million followers the damage.
While one arm was wrapped in a cast, the other was being supported by a sling.
“I’ve had a bit of a bicycle accident and I’m currently waiting on some medical advice, which may affect some of my upcoming shows,” the singer wrote.
