WAYNE Rooney played a blinder on his debut as a Sky Sports pundit.
The England top scorer made his TV debut on Monday Night Football for Watford’s 4-1 win over Chelsea.
He poked fun at fellow pundit Jamie Carragher, a former Liverpool defender, when he said: “It’s great to be here.
“It’s probably the closest Carra has ever got to me.”
And when Jamie asked Wayne to compare Man United’s 2009 front three of himself, Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez to the current Liverpool strike force, he joked: “The difference we had is Premier League winners’ medals.”
A TV insider compared Everton player Wayne, 32, to Match of the Day host Gary Lineker and said: “He was a breath of fresh air.”
Meanwhile, fans praised Rooney’s performance but mocked his ginger-looking barnet.
The ace has had at least one hair transplant, and a viewer asked on social media: “Who was the donor, Mick Hucknall?”

Others suggested Basil Brush and BBC politics presenter Andrew Neil, while another added: “Looks like Rooney painted his hair on tonight.”
