The former Emmerdale actress is currently on Strictly Come Dancing, but backtracked over admitting the ‘Strictly curse would be a blessing’ after being paired with Aljaz Skorjanec – who recently married fellow professional Janette Manrara .

Instead, Gemma Atkinson has said she is happy being single – but is already planning the age she’ll have children.

Opening up about her life as a singleton in an exclusive chat with OK! magazine, Gemma explained why she is happy “to be the crazy dog woman with meals for one” and why she doesn’t plan on having kids until she’s 36.

“I’ve put it back now to 35 or 36! A thousand percent I want kids, but if someone said to me, ‘Right, tomorrow you can meet the love of your life and have a baby and get married,’ I’d say no,” Gemma said.

“I mentally don’t feel in that place,” she continued. “I thought I would be ready for kids at this age, but I’m not.”

Gemma also slammed reports she is dating professional dancer Gorka Marquez, explaining: “There was an online poll that asked who I should get with and they said Gorka, so it started there.”

“I’ve only seen him for the launch and the live shows. He’s a friend and the only thing we’ve shared is his guacamole recipe.”

The former Hollyoaks star opened Strictly on September 23, landing a score of 20 following her first dance.

But ahead of last week’s show, the blonde bombshell admitted she was nervous to perform the Waltz.

During It Takes Two, she told Zoe Ball: “It’s been tough this week.

“I mean the Waltz is hard for me because it’s all about your posture and your hold and it’s very elegant and feminine and just romantic…,” she added before giggling about how she wasn’t any of those things.”

However, Gemma went on to land a score of 26.
