Kim Kardashian Returns to Paris for First Time Since Gunpoint Robbery

The mother of three attends Louis Vuitton Menswear Spring/Summer 2019 at Parisien Palais Royal with Kanye West, Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott.

Nearly two years after her frightening robbery in Paris, Kim Kardashian has finally returned to the city for Paris Fashion Week. She was joined by husband Kanye West, Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott (II) when attending the Louis Vuitton Menswear Spring/Summer 2019 at Parisien Palais Royal.

The group sat in the front row to support Virgil Abloh, who was appointed as artistic director for Louis Vuitton’s menswear collections. Kim wore a bright blue collared shirt dress with zippered fanny pack-like compartments and sporty sunglasses, while her rapper husband rocked a print sweatshirt. Her sister, on the other hand, was stunning in a bright yellow tracksuit.

An attendee told PEOPLE that there were guards around the KKW beauty founder, but “it didn’t seem exceptional or excessive.” The guest added, “It was almost normal but there was some tension you could feel.”

As for why she decided that it was time for her to return to Paris, a source told E! News that Kim “wants to move on completely from what happened and going back helped with closure.” For the reality star, the visit “was special and important.”

“She has missed it and felt like it was the right time to go. She felt comfortable because she had Kanye by her side the entire time,” the source added. “She also had beefed up security because there were so many paparazzi. It was good for her to go back, but emotional at the same time. It’s been so long, but it’s a city she has always loved and she wants to be able to visit regularly again.”

Kim was staying in an apartment at the Hotel de Pourtales in October 2016 when masked thieves robbed her at gunpoint. They made off with two cellphones and about $11 million worth of jewelry, including a $4.9 million ring. She was left tied up and gagged in a bathtub as the robbers got away with her games. French police charged 10 people in the heist three months later.
