While the fitness-loving Irish hunk is said to have recently broken up with his girlfriend of six years, Rob has declared his intentions for the year ahead.

The 25-year-old fitness model opened up in an interview before heading to the Love Island villa.

Describing himself as “outgoing, open-minded and friendly”, Rob shared his plans for 2017, some of which he’ll soon be able to tick off his list after heading to the sun-drenched shooting location.

The new contestant said: “This year I want to travel as much as possible and I want to document it as much as I can!”

However, in the exclusive interview, Rob also spoke out about what his plans were.

The YouTuber said: “I was in Australia about 3 weeks ago and I just absolutely fell in love with the place!”

Revealing his plans to head back to the island destination, he said: “Due to it being on the other side of the world, I am definitely going back when winter hits Ireland; I will stay there for 2 months and then fly home. But yeah I’m clearly in LOVE with Australia.”

While it’s an island of a different kind, it’s likely that the face of MyProtein isn’t going to struggle with finding romance in the villa.

The newbies were teased at the end of Wednesday’s show and by the looks of things, they mean business.

As the dramatic episode came to an end, narrator Iain Sterling dropped the bombshell that there is going to be a big change in the villa.

He boomed: “Relationships face the ultimate test. New boys, new girls and a brand new villa.”

Viewers were then treated to a sneak peak of the six boys and five girls hoping to make their impact on the ITV2 show, who will be revealed on Thursday evening’s episode.
