Love Island's Cara De La Hoyde and Nathan Massey say baby son has 'brought them closer' as they hint marriage is on the horizon

The Love Island winners – who fell in love after meeting on the 2016 series – split just a month before Cara revealed she was pregnant, but the pair have confessed their son has brought them closer together and could result in marriage.

After the birth of their son four months ago, the couple have now revealed all in an interview for this week's OK Magazine.

Nathan said: "We’ve got much stronger; Fred has brought us closer together."

He added: "A year ago the pressures of coming off a TV show like that got a bit too much and we split up.

"But since we’ve had Fred, I don’t think we’ve argued once – we get on so well now. Having Fred completely changed our relationship for the better."

Nathan also hinted at marriage, as he said: "We're very strong at the minute, you'll just have to watch this space. She's marriage material, put it that way."

They became parents to a little boy called Freddie-George in December of last year, less than two years after they played at being parents on the ITV show.

The pair revealed he was born 12 days after his due date after Cara was induced and warned she could spend four days in hospital.

At the time, Cara told OK! magazine: "I’d been sat in the bath for two hours. I did plan on having a water birth, but I was very much of the mind set that whatever happens, happens."

In February, Nathan shared a funny throwback of him and Cara with their Love Island baby.
