Mel B’s scary nice Los Angeles home has been relisted with another price cut. The Spice Girl initially put the home on the market after splitting from her husband, Stephen Belafonte, early last year. The divorce was finalized in December.
The home, which is now priced at $7.5 million, was listed last March for $9 million. No wannabe buyers stepped forward, and the price was dropped by $1 million a month later. With no sale, it was eventually taken off the market until this week.
Even with the dramatic slash, the owners stand to make a hefty profit from a potential home sale. As Realtor.com previously reported, the couple purchased the property in 2014 for $4.3 million, and then totally redid the place.
But the question of who will benefit from the proceeds from the eventual sale is up for debate. The Daily Mail reported that the couple is now “warring” over the home like a child in a real estate custody battle. Although the two apparently agreed initially to split the profits, Mel B (whose given name is Melanie Brown) has reportedly backtracked.
For his part, Belafonte is said to be arguing that Brown made it difficult to sell because she allegedly refused him access to the home to make repairs and to stage it, TMZ reported.
