She was the dream girl of the 80s, famed for flaunting her fabulous curves on Page 3.
Now Samantha Fox has hit headlines again after her claims US pop idol David Cassidy sexually assaulted her in a bathroom. Here’s all you need to know about the model turned singer…
Samantha Karen Fox was born on 15 April 1966, making her 51 years old.
She is from Mile End, East London and is the eldest daughter of actress Carole Ann Wilken and John Patrick Fox.
She comes from a family of market traders.
First appearing on The Sun’s Page 3, Fox retired from modelling aged 20 to pursue a career in the music industry.
Sam has since become a regular face on reality TV and panel shows.
These include Celebrity Wife Swap, Come Dine With Me, I’m a Celebrity and Celebrity Big Brother in 2016.
She is worth an estimated £15million and hit the big time in 1983, when she began appearing as a topless model on Page 3 of the Sun, aged 16.
She continued as a Page 3 girl until 1986, and during this time, she became the most popular pin-up girl of her era.
Chart success followed after her modelling days, and she launched her music career starting with the 1986 release, Touch Me (I Want Your Body).
The song reached the top of the charts in 17 countries and she has sold more than 30 million records throughout the world.
After a string of relationships with men, Samantha came out as a lesbian.
She was in a long-term relationship with her partner of 16 years Myra Stratton.
Speaking of the relationship to her manager, Sam said: “People say I’m gay….I don’t know what I am. All I know is that I’m in love with Myra.
“I love her completely and want to spend the rest of my life with her.”
However, Myra sadly lost her battle to cancer in 2015.
She later admitted that she feared identifying herself as a lesbian due to worries she’d lose fans.
Sam claims US pop idol David Cassidy sexually assaulted her in a bathroom.
Speaking to the Daily Star, she said that the musician “grabbed her breasts and put his hand under her skirt” in a Chelsea restaurant.
In her new book Forever, which is set to be released next week, she says that the incident took place in May 1985.
She was reportedly asked to appear in the music video for Cassidy’s single, Romance, during which he had a visible erection during the shoot.
“David seemed to be deliberately drawing out the photoshoot, which took an eternity, and he had an erection the entire time – something he did absolutely nothing to hide,” she told the paper. “Whenever he pressed himself against me, I could clearly feel his d***”
