Security rushed in to protect music mogul Simon Cowell after the sound of gunfire was heard.
While it turned out to be a farmer shooting rabbits in a nearby field, everyone on The X Factor set was left terrified.
“Everyone was terrified. Several gunshots were heard in quick succession,” a source told The Sun.

They continued: “There was already tight security because of the current climate.
“It turned out the shots had come from a farmer who was shooting rabbits in a field rather than anything more sinister.”
New mum Cheryl later joined Simon, marking the first time they have worked together since she quit the show as a judge in 2015.

The duo were rumoured to make their long-awaited return to our screens during this season’s The X Factor , where it was speculated Cheryl would be returning to Judges’ Houses alongside the media mogul.
And now, the news has officially been confirmed with a picture – as the pair posed up a storm at Simon Cowell’s mansion, announcing they will be working together again on the hit ITV show.
Her return as mentor at Judges’ Houses comes after a two year hiatus from the show, and just months after she welcomed her little baby Bear with former X Factor star Liam Payne back in March.

Earlier this year the Mail On Sunday reported that Simon was “delighted” to have the new mum back on board with The X Factor again.
An insider told them: “Simon is ecstatic at getting Cheryl back working with him again.
“They’ve had their ups and downs to say the least but he hugely respects her opinion. He has been working on it for a while. He and Cheryl have been talking a lot over the last months…”
