Prince Harry reportedly set his sights on girlfriend Meghan Marklelong before they were introduced by a friend during an orchestrated meeting last summer.
In a new Channel 4 documentary, When Harry Met Meghan: A Royal Romance, royal expert Katie Nicholl gives a new insight into the prince’s relationship with the American actress.
“He had a crush on Rachel Zane two years before he met Meghan and the reason I know is because I was having drinks with one of his friends,” said the royal expert.

“She told me she’d been on a night out with Prince Harry. He was single at the time, so she said, ‘Harry, who’s your ideal girl?’ And he said ‘Meghan Markle from Suits'”, Katie reported to The Sun.
The 36 year old actress has played sexy New York aspiring lawyer Rachel Zane in the popular US series for six years.
The pair’s royal romance was first revealed last year, with the pair attending their first official event together last month.

Harry and Meghan’s appearance at the Invictus Games in Toronto has sparked speculation the couple will soon announce their engagement.
But ahead of an official reveal, Channel 4 are airing their one-off documentary.
According to the show’s press release, it will: “Feature interviews with Meghan’s friends and colleagues, and excerpts from royal experts who will be addressing whether the actress is ready to become part of the royal family.

“Meghan broke through as an actor with the TV series Suits, where she plays bi-racial paralegal Rachel Zane.
“But there’s more to Meghan than acting: she’s a feminist and a philanthropist and can be outspoken on political issues” continued the press release.
When Harry Met Meghan: A Royal Romance will air on Channel 4 pm Saturday, 28 October at 9pm.
