Russell Crowe is on a mission to slim down as he prepares to propose to his actress girlfriend, Britney Theriot.
According to reports by both New Idea and Woman’s Day magazine on Monday, the 57-year-old actor is determined to lose weight before his wedding.
It will be the second wedding for Russell, who was married to singer Danielle Spencer from 2003 until 2018.

According to Woman’s Day, Russell is determined to get into shape before proposing to his 30-year-old girlfriend, and is on a strict diet and exercise plan.
‘Russell’s doing everything he can to knock off the kilos. He wants to walk down the aisle looking his best,’ a source told the publication.
The source added that the Gladiator star ‘wants to be able to keep up with Britney’, who is heavily into fitness.

While the couple isn’t engaged yet, those close to the Oscar winner say it’s just a matter of time before he pops the question.
‘Everyone’s buzzing that he’s already bought a massive solitaire ring for her and they’re expecting an engagement announcement any day now,’ said a source.
The source added that he’s ‘finally healed his wounds’ after splitting with Danielle, and is ‘ready to take that big step again’.

The former couple share two teenage sons, Charlie, 17, and Tennyson, 14.
Meanwhile, New Idea said Russell is keen to lose weight after stacking on the kilos to play Fox News chairman Roger Ailes in the 2019 miniseries, The Loudest Voice.
‘Rusty is a total romantic at heart and when the time comes, he will definitely ask for her hand in marriage,’ a source told the publication.

Russell and Britney sparked romance rumours when they were spotted sharing a kiss on a tennis court during a friendly game in Sydney in November.
The sighting came after months of speculation, with Russell appearing to have first met the American actress on the 2013 set of their film, Broken City.
