Scheana Shay thought it was harder to watch her newest relationship unravel than it was to watch her divorce unfold on “Vanderpump Rules.”
“I will admit, I haven’t watched the last few episodes … last season, watching my divorce wasn’t as hard for me because I was in a very happy relationship, and I was madly in love with Rob [Parks Valletta],” she said on her new podcast, “Scheananigans.”
“But watching that back hasn’t been easy because I see how it looks on television,” she told her “Vanderpump” costar Ariana Madix on the episode. “Obviously, you can’t see every minute of every conversation … I know I look really stupid, and you know what? I was coming off a divorce; I got back with someone who I felt was my soulmate and was the one … you can’t fault me for being happy and being in love.”
She continued, “Rob was very reserved on the show. He is a person who lives his life on camera, acting and hosting, not for a reality show. For him, that was completely out of his comfort zone. He is a very private person … So for him, that was hard to have those raw emotions on there. The moments that we had in private are private moments. He did tell me he loved me. We were planning a future together, but then, just this world that he became a part of was too overwhelming for him to continue.”
The reality star married Michael Shay in 2014 in front of Bravo’s cameras. They finalized their divorce in May after just two years of marriage. The “Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man” star, 32, quickly rebounded with Valletta, 35, but they broke up in October after less than a year of dating. She confessed on a recent episode of “Vanderpump Rules” that they had looked at houses together and already had baby names picked out — like Madison Marie Parks Valletta for their first daughter.
“One day I’m sure we will [get back together] but not while I’m here [in Las Vegas for “Sex Tips”], not while I’m still working at SUR and ‘Vanderpump Rules’ is on,” Shay told Page Six in January. “After everything that happened this past summer, it’s just not a group of people he wants in his life. So we’ve done our best to maintain our friendship because we’ve had a relationship with each other for 11 years on-and-off. It hasn’t been easy at times, but we have a lot of love and respect for each other and we’ll always be involved in each other’s lives in some way.”
She doesn’t seem too heartbroken though, as she admitted to making out with Carl Radke from “Summer House” and confessed to spending plenty of time with “The Bachelor” personality Robby Hayes.
