It was reported the 45 year old was lunged at by a man outside London Euston station, while she was crossing the road in a wheelchair, with her carer.
Taking to Twitter, the BBC actress took to Twitter to break her silence on her ordeal.
“Please have a read of my statement below,” she told her 8,264k followers. “I want to say an extra Thank You to the amazing paramedics, ambulance crew & A&E staff #SaveTheNHS.”

“Thanks to everyone who has sent their love and good wishes following last week’s stabbing,” her statement read.
“Just to reassure you that whilst it was very frightening at the time, I came out of it relatively unscathed and was even back home later that night,
“Looking forward to returning to filming on Silent Witness next week where thankfully all the violence is fake! Liz x.”

According to The Sun, Liz was lunged at by a man in the street, while she was crossing the road.

Her carer reportedly attempted to stop the male attacker, who was armed with a pair of scissors in each hand.
The publication states the actress, who plays Clarissa Mullery on the show, is recovering from a slash wound.
Police have confirmed a suspect in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of GBH and sectioned under the Mental Health Act.

A friend told The Sun: “It was a terrifying experience for Liz. She was being pushed in her wheelchair when this young man armed with two pairs of scissors suddenly headed towards her.
“He followed them and began lashing out and stabbed Liz in the head.

“There was blood everywhere but she was very lucky that the wound grazed her head and she was not more seriously injured.”
Her pal added she was putting on a brave face, joking that it was like being attacked by “Edward Scissorhands”.
