Pregnant Kate Middleton and Prince William celebrated their sixth anniversary earlier this year, after getting married at their lavish April 2011 wedding.
It’s obvious the loved-up couple are always there for each other for support, attending royal engagements together and sharing precious family moments.
And now the happy couple – already parents to Prince George who just started school and Princess Charlotte – are now expecting their third child.
But while there are strict etiquette rules that the Duchess follows to maintain her relationship with the Queen, there are also times that Kate and William have rebelled against royal traditions…

Prince George’s first day at school was a big deal, and not just because of how cute he looked in his pricey uniform.
In a break from tradition, Kate and Will opted to send their son to a school that the royals haven’t attended before.
As tradition goes, royals usually go to single sex schools, but George’s is mixed.

Kate may not enjoy one hobby favoured by the royal family, but she has a particular passion for photography.
Which is why they often break with tradition, and unusually Kate often opts to take the images herself.
Gina Jones from Bumpkins, The Baby Show’s lead experts in baby photography, has revealed the real reason she is so keen to take up photography.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, the expert revealed it is all down to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s desire to be “resourceful with money”.

Gina explained: “It shows how modern Kate and William are by being more accessible and having a hands on approach.
“It also shows that they are resourceful with money as you often see Kate in high street fashion and sometimes repeating outfits and so by taking her own photos this again shows how she is savvy with money.”
Never over the top, and always looking graceful, Kate and Will aren’t afraid to show their love for each other and are very tactile and warm with one another, whether it’s their first kiss as a married couple, or a meaningful glance.

Rather than hide their emotions, Kate and Will are often pictured looking very animated on royal engagements, much to the delight of onlookers.
Kate has also encouraged Wills and Prince Harry to speak openly about the loss of their mum Princess Diana, and they are heavily involved in promoting the work of mental health campaign Heads Together.

Prince William and Kate have been known to break the rules when it comes to the royal family Christmas tradition.
Instead of spending Christmas day with the rest of the royal family and the Queen at Sandringham House, Kate and William spent their first Christmas as a family of four at home in Anmer Hall.
They also opt to spend a lot of time with the Middleton family, and spent last Christmas there.

Kate and Will first met while studying at St Andrews University, in September 2001.
They initially both studied art history, before William later switched to Geography.
Their education means they’ll become the first king and queen of Britain to have a degree.
