The former glamour model and dedicated yogi qualified as an instructor last summer, and regularly posts incredible videos of unfathomable poses to her 271k followers on Instagram.
“My modelling days have come to an end – it’s not my priority any more,” says Casey, whose first baby is due at the end of May.
“I can incorporate yoga into looking after my children, so I absolutely want [teaching] it to be my main job.”
After an eventful stint on Celebrity Big Brother four years ago, where she found herself at the centre of a love triangle with Lee Ryan and Jasmine Waltz, Casey, 33, has now settled down with boyfriend Dane Goodson, 33, who owns an office supply and printing company.
“I couldn’t be happier. Dane is like my soulmate. We never argue, we’re the best of friends and it might be really clichéd, but it’s the perfect relationship.”
Anxious not to sound smug, she adds: “But I have waited a very long time and I’ve had a bad, public, failed relationship. I’ve been unlucky in love.”
Casey and Dane were set up by a mutual friend two years ago just when she’d given up hope of finding Mr Right.
“My mind was set that I was going to be on my own. I was quite sure that I wanted children and if I hadn’t met anyone by the time I was 35, I was going to get a sperm donor.”
As it turns out, Casey and Dane were on the same page when it came to children, although her pregnancy has meant putting teaching yoga on hold. But once the baby arrives, she plans to pick up where she left off.
“I want to be the yogi queen!” she says.
Each boob is bigger than my head
As Casey, who doesn’t know the sex of her baby, continues to defy gravity on our shoot (it’s a wonder she doesn’t topple over on her size 2.5 feet), we get the feeling she’ll more than succeed.
How are you finding the changes to your body during pregnancy?
It was quite difficult to start with. I was like: “Oh my god!” Especially because my job was being a model and having to look my best, and then all of a sudden I didn’t have a waist any more. And I’ve got these ginormous boobs, my bum’s got bigger, I’ve got back fat and my face is chubbier.
But I’ve learned to embrace it now.
I thought: “Actually, I’m growing a human inside me and this is the most amazing thing. I’m very blessed.”
You had a breast reduction a few years ago, but it looks like pregnancy has cancelled that out!
Each boob is bigger than my head! I started my periods when I was eight, I had DD boobs when I was 12 and went on to be a GG cup.
I had a reduction in September 2014 and went down to a 32E – and then they grew again!
Now I’m pregnant, they’re an H. I really want to breastfeed, although I might not be able to because of my reduction.
Would you have another reduction in the future?
Absolutely. I’d like to go down to a C or D cup. I’ve looked into it and most doctors wait a year after breastfeeding for the milk ducts to dry up, but by that time we might have started trying [for a baby] again.
When people have implants they just sit there nice and pretty.
Mine don’t because they’re real, so they’re heavy and droopy!
Do you feel being a yoga expert will help you with the birth?
I’m going to do hypnobirthing, which goes really well with yoga. I’m going to try to have a water birth.
I’m nervous, but I’m having a doula [a non-medical birth companion], which will be amazing.
And my mum Kim, 60, and Dane will both be there.
How will that dynamic work in the delivery room?
Dane will be useless! He says: “Can’t I just sit outside the room and wait?” And I’m like: “No, you will see what I’m going through.”
My mum will be amazing and she’ll be there throughout, and the doula is good because she can liaise with the midwives.
When did you first get into yoga?
I’d done classes for three years and always enjoyed it, but last January it just took hold of me.
I was going to classes and forgetting about everything. I just felt so great and that was it, I was hooked.
I was doing it every single day and became really dedicated – that’s when I decided to go to Spain and do my teaching qualification last June.
How often do you practise?
About five times a week. Sometimes I do 10 minutes and think: “That’s enough!” and other times I’ll do 45 minutes. I’ve had sickness quite badly through my pregnancy and there have been times I’ve not wanted to get out of bed.
But when I have done yoga, I’ve felt so much better. Postures like child’s pose help with nausea and anxiety.
How are you feeling now?
It’s calmed down a lot. I’ve only been physically sick a few times, but I’ve had constant nausea and I dry-heave a lot.
In the first and second trimesters, every time Dane used hairspray it would set me off heaving like you wouldn’t believe!
What do you think when you look back at CBB now?
As much as it was tough for me in there, I did have some fun times.
But that wasn’t really portrayed as much because obviously the main subject for me was what was going on with the love triangle.
Do you ever hear from Lee?
We’re friends and he congratulated me on my pregnancy.
I’ve got no issues with anyone, everything is water under the bridge.
Are you pleased you did the show?
Yes, I feel like everything happens for a reason. It’s given me a platform and a social media network that helps with the yoga.
If I can promote that through the following I’ve got from Big Brother, that’s great.
