Stepping onto the prestigious carpet for the VMAs 2017, Katy Perry instantly amazed fans with her bold white dress.
The statement sleeve and cleavage-baring feature, certainly proved a hit, making Sunday night in LA all about Katy.
That’s not to mention her VMA hosting skills, a slightly awkward Swish Swish performance and an even more uncomfortable introduction of Taylor Swift’s new music video, Look What You Made Me Do.
However, there was another slightly unusual part of Katy’s night that caused mayhem over on social media, and that’s her exaggerated accessory – loop earrings.

The 32 year old wore a fabulous set of oversized earrings, and the world didn’t know what to make of them, with fans claiming they both love and hate them, with others left completely worried about the condition of her ears.
In favour of the very large silver loops, designed by Armani, one Twitter user said: “@katyperry knows how to rock some earrings. #VMAs.”
Agreeing, another added: “@KatyPerry is rocking the heck out of these massive hoop earrings.”
Thinking a fashion trend was in the remake, another said: “The other week I thought hoop earrings were out of fashion until @katyperry wore them tonight.”

However, others were a little more concerned for Katy’s earlobes as they held onto to the heavy piece of jewellery.
“I’m worried about her earlobes. Hugely heavy earrings give me pain,” said one concerned fan.
Another added: “My ears hurt looking at Katy Perry’s earrings….or whatever they are #VMAs.”
Katy wasn’t the only one making big statements with her fashion choices either as Mel B also used her carpet appearance to send a message.

Showing off her fit figure in a midi sequin dress, fans believe the former Spice Girl was taking a swipe at ex-husband Stephen Belafonte.
The frock read: “You will never own me.”
