BBC Radio 2’s Chris Evans is going to be a father again at age 52.
The former Top Gear presenter shared the happy news with his Radio 2 listeners on Monday (April 16) that his wife Natasha Shishmanian is pregnant with twins, having undergone IVF treatments.
“Mrs Evans is… she is now [pregnant], yeah. Twins. Double trouble. Twin turbo,” Chris quipped.
With his trademark twit, Chris also tried getting ahead of the tabloids: “We’ve known for a while, obviously. She’s definitely the mother, there’s no doubt about that!”
Radio 2 also celebrated the big news on Twitter, which you can see above. The twins will be Evans’s fourth and fifth children — he’s already the father to 32-year-old Jade from a prior relationship and sons Noah and Eli with Natasha.
The pair are expected to welcome their twins in September, according to what Chris told his listeners on today’s radio show.
Later in Monday’s Radio 2 show, Chris chatted with pregnancy nutritionist Henrietta Norton about her tips for Natasha — including the essential role that lemons will now play in her life from now on. Listen below:
Let’s hope Chris will be paying a bit more attention to his personal life this time around. Earlier this year, his ex-wife Billie Piper had to remind Chris on-air that they’d once tied the knot in Las Vegas.
Chris and Natasha will be celebrating their eleventh wedding anniversary this coming August. Congratulations to the happy couple!
