Taylor Swift v Katy Perry is the heartbreaking feud that just won’t end – but one person who isn’t getting involved is Ed Sheeran.
The popstar battle of the century got going again recently when Taylor finally brought her music catalogue back to Spotify… on the very same day Katy Perry’s new album Witness dropped.
And one particular song on Katy’s latest record, ‘Swish Swish’, allegedly hits back at Taylor for the 2014 hit ‘Bad Blood’.

But speaking to People at the 2017 Songwriters Hall of Fame induction gala, Ed admitted that he doesn’t feel the need to defend his good pal Taylor in song.
“I don’t think she needs that at all,” he said.
Asked for his thoughts on the phenomenon of diss tracks, Ed explained: “I don’t think feud songs are a hot thing – there’s always been beef songs. It’s mainly been like Carly Simon.”
He was no doubt referring to Carly Simon’s huge admission in 2015 that ‘You’re So Vain’ is indeed about Warren Beatty.
Still, Taylor may not actually need Ed’s backing in her war with Katy Perry.
In an interview on Arianna Huffington’s The Thrive Global Podcast, Katy publicly apologised to Taylor for any ill will in the past… and even went one further.
“I love her, and I want the best for her,” Katy said. “And I think she’s a fantastic songwriter, and I think that, you know, if we – both her and I – can be representatives of strong women that come together despite their differences, I think the whole world is going to go like, ‘Yeah, well we can do this.’
“Like, maybe I don’t agree with everything she does and she doesn’t agree with everything I do, but I just really truly want to come together in a place of love and forgiveness and understanding and compassion.”
