Ed Sheeran may be being trolled on Twitter, but, naturally, he’s having the last laugh…
Why? Because his single ‘Shape Of You’ has broken the record for the UK’s most streamed track of all time.
Ed’s song has overtaken Drake’s ‘One Dance’, surpassing 184 million streams since its release in January, according to the Official Charts Company.

‘Shape Of You’ has also become the best-selling song of the year so far, followed by Ed’s ‘Castle On The Hill’ in second place, and then by ‘Despacito’ by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee featuring Justin Bieber in third.
With ‘Galway Girl’ by Sheeran in fourth place, he was very close to claiming all three top spots.
News of Ed’s continued success comes after he admitted that reading what’s said online is a downer in his day-to-day life – so much so that he’s stopped using Twitter.
“There’s nothing but people saying mean things,” he told The Sun. “One comment ruins your day. But that’s why I’ve come off it. The head-f**k for me has been trying to work out why people dislike me so much.”
Lady Gaga defended him on Instagram – although she did tag the wrong bloke before correcting herself – where she wrote: “What an incredible talented artist. I LOVE ED.
“[He] deserves all our love and respect like all humans do. I wish all people on the internet would be positive and loving and a part of creating an online community that is kind and empowering, not hateful and mean.”
Enjoy ‘Shape Of You’ below – and spare a thought for the poor trolls who haven’t had even one online stream:
