Harry Styles has branched off on his own – and one benefit seems to be having Simon Cowell as a friend rather than a boss.
Speaking to The Sunday Times, the former One Direction star said that he has felt more relaxed speaking to the Syco music mogul – not that Simon wasn’t friendly before, of course.
After Simon listened to ‘Sign of the Times’, he got in touch with Harry and had only nice things to say about it.
“He said he really liked it and he was very proud of me,” Harry recalled. “It was very friendly. Not like past phone calls haven’t been friendly, but I didn’t get that nervy ‘the boss is calling me’ feel, which was nice.”
However, the same perhaps can’t be said about Harry’s relationship with Zayn Malik.

Although Harry didn’t say much, it seems the pair rarely speak to each other nowadays.
“Not so much,” he said. “It’s okay. I think we’re both happy for each other that we’re doing what we want to do and everyone’s having a good time.”
As for the rest of Harry’s former One Direction bandmates – Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and Liam Payne – the boys have been hanging out when they can.
“Everyone’s working so much at the moment, but I’ve seen them and we’ve hung out,” Harry said.
Harry has been promoting his self-titled solo debut album lately, including a great performance on The One Show which sent fans into meltdown.
