Metallica, Dave Matthews Band, G-Eazy to Play Fire Benefit Concert in San Francisco

Metallica, Dave Matthews Band, and G-Eazy are among the artists performing in a Band Together Bay Area fire relief benefit concert to support recovery efforts for the recent wildfires that devastated Northern California. The show will be held at AT&T Park in San Francisco on Nov. 9.

According to SFGate, tickets range from $49.50 to $199.50 and go on sale Friday via Ticketmaster, which has pledged to donate all processing fees to the relief effort. Prime seats will be reserved for first responders, volunteers, and families who were affected in the firestorm.

Band Together Bay Area, a coalition of San Francisco business and community leaders, has already collected $6.5 million. All proceeds from the concert and related fundraising initiatives will benefit the Tipping Point Emergency Relief Fund to support temporary housing, food, and health care services for impacted communities.

Metallica promoted the concert with a video on Twitter, saying, “The recent tragic events up in Napa County, Sonoma County, Mendocino have left us all saddened, left us all flabbergasted, and trying to figure out how we in some way can bond and help.”

They added, “We’re there to help as much as we can, and this is how we do it — through music.”
