We all know that Miley Cyrus has had a change of direction recently, but we didn’t expect it to be this drastic…
Because the video for Miley’s brand new single ‘Malibu’ has finally arrived, and it’s a far cry from those heady days of twerking, latex outfits and giant foam fingers. (Phew.)
Have a listen to – and watch of – the vastly different ‘Malibu’ below. Watch out for bonus dog content!

On first listen, it has a wholesome and uplifting country vibe that is – love it or hate it – a million miles away from Miley’s sometimes baffling Bangerz era.
So when Miley sings, “I never would’ve believed you if three years ago you told me I’d be here writing this song,” all we can really say is: same, girl.
Someone who we think it’s safe to assume is the inspiration behind Miley’s newest music is her fiancé Liam Hemsworth – who also shot the cover art for the single, by the way.
Talking to Billboard magazine about her and Liam’s relationship last week, Miley said that change was necessary for them to work.
“I needed to change so much,” she said. “And changing with someone else not changing like that is too hard. We had to re-fall for each other.
“They’re going to talk about me if I come out of a restaurant with Liam. So why not put the power back in my relationship and say, ‘This is how I feel’?”
‘Malibu’ is available to stream and for download on iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon Music and Google Play right now!
