Rita Ora will be making a return to the music scene very, very soon – as in, two weeks from now kind of soon.
Rita’s first single from her forthcoming, untitled album is called ‘Your Song’ and will drop on May 26.
And if that’s not enough to get you excited – it’s also been penned by none other than Ed Sheeran himself, so it’s sure to be one hell of a catchy hit too.
“I’m so excited to share that my new single ‘Your Song’ is coming on 26th May,” Rita shared this week. “Can’t wait for you guys to hear it!”
The singer also teased her collaboration with Ed a few weeks ago, as she shared a super short video of the two hanging out and listening to some music on Instagram.
Rita’s new music follows her a turbulent few years that saw her sign a new record deal last year with Atlantic Records after suing her previous label, Jay Z’s Roc Nation for ‘orphaning’ her in an unfair contract.
She also swapped out her role as a judge on The X Factor to host American’s Next Top Model, meaning we haven’t actually heard new music from Rita since 2015.
“It’s never smooth sailing for any artist,” she told The Sunday Times today. “No one will tell you they got everything they wanted in their career. Acts have been dropped by labels and gone on to become some of the biggest stars in the world.”
And with Ed penning her a track that saw her opt to release ‘Your Song’ ahead of the previously-planned first single from the new album, ‘Girls’, it looks like Rita’s about to enjoy being a big music star once again very soon.
Hey, when Ed Sheeran writes you a hit, you don’t mess around.
Rita also seems very excited about her new music, and has played it for a few famous friends, including Nick Grimshaw, who promised fans that the new songs “sound really really good”.
“She’s really grown,” he added. “I was going to say grown up, evolved. Matured.”
‘Your Song’ will be released on May 26.
