Selena Gomez Helps Fan Anxiety Attack, Meet and Greet

Selena Gomez is no stranger to battling mental illness. She suffers from lupus, which causes anxiety, panic attacks and depression.

“As many of you know, around a year ago I revealed that I have lupus, an illness that can affect people in different ways,” she said in a statement to PEOPLE almost two years ago. “I’ve discovered that anxiety, panic attacks and depression can be side effects of lupus, which can present their own challenges. I want to be proactive and focus on maintaining my health and happiness and have decided that the best way forward is to take some time off.”

So, when she heard that a fan was having an anxiety attack outside of a meet-and-greet, she quickly jumped into action and went to help her. The 25-year-old went out to find the Selenator crying and began talking to her, hugging her and trying her best to calm her down.

The video was just posted to Twitter yesterday, but we’re not sure when it was originally taken. SelGo mentions that she is “so stoked for [the fan] to get the record” AND has long hair, so it could’ve been from the last time she released an album. But either way, it’s so incredible to see how much Selena cares about her fans! We stan a supportive queen!
