NASA astronaut Nick Hague emerges from capsule after ISS rocket launch emergency

Earlier today, a capsule carrying crew to the International Space Station was forced to make an emergency landing.

Astronaut Nick Hague of NASA and cosmonaut Alexey Ovchinin of Roscosmos were on board the capsule, and were forced to return in ‘ballistic mode.’

Thankfully, NASA has confirmed that the capsule landed safely, and that both astronauts are alive and well.

However, it took search and rescue teams over an hour to find the capsule.

Now that NASA has reached the astronauts, they have been able to leave the capsule, and are said to be in good condition.

However, speaking to NTV, cosmonaut Alexander Volkov commented: "The guys are lucky that they remained alive."

Roscomos is now forming a State Commission to investigate the incident.

Mirror Online will bring you footage and photos of the astronauts as they come in.
