BARCELONA have confirmed Arda Turan has joined Istanbul Basaksehir on loan until 2020.
The Turkish international failed to make a single appearance under Ernesto Valverde this season and was linked with a move to Arsenal.
But Turan, 30, has opted to return to his homeland to seek more regular first team football.
A statement on the club’s official website read: "Arda Turan has played a total of 55 games for Barca, scoring 15 goals in his two-and-a-half years as a Blaugrana.
"In that time he has won 6 trophies: 1 league championship, 2 Copa del Rey, 1 Spanish Super Cup, 1 Club World Cup and 1 European Super Cup.
"As such the Turk leaves after completing a clean sweep of domestic trophies."
Turan was snapped up by Barca after impressing for La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid.
He won the league title, Europa League and was a runner-up in the Champions League during his time in the Spanish capital.
But Turan failed to cement himself in the Barca squad after joining the club late due to a transfer embargo.
Turan, 30, had recently been linked with a move to Everton while Arsenal also had interest in the midfielder.
