Arsenal transfer news: Bordeaux boss Jocelyn Gourvennec hints Gunners target Malcom will leave this January

MALCOM'S potential move to Arsenal appears to be edging closer after Bordeaux boss Jocelyn Gourvennec hinted he could leave in January.

The 20-year-old has been linked with joining the Gunners in a whopping £45million deal, as Arsene Wenger eyes up replacements for Alexis Sanchez.

Addressing rumours of a potential exit away from Ligue 1, Gourvennec revealed he is uncertain whether the Brazilian will remain at the club.

He said: "With Malcom I am taking it day by day… if he leaves, he will be replaced."

Reports in the Guardian claimed that Arsenal discussed personal terms with the forward in France on Friday, and is Wenger's No 1 target in the winter transfer window.

And with the Frenchman revealing that Sanchez's fate at the club could be sealed by Wednesday, Malcom could be whisked in imminently.

A move to North London was intensified when the ex-Corinthians ace's agent uploaded a picture of himself in London with the hashtag "PremierLeague".

But Bordeaux owner Nicolas de Tavernost shut down speculation recently, insisting: "Malcom will not be leaving."

The Brazilian youth international is also being monitored by Premier League duo Manchester United and Tottenham.

It comes as no surprise he is being highly sought after as he has banged in seven goals and registered five assists in 19 French top-flight games.

Arsenal are also interested in Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who was left out of of the squad to face Wolfsburg on Sunday.
