Meanwhile in the other semi-final, Chelsea will face Arsenal home and away.
The Carabao Cup semi-final ties will take place over two legs.
The first matches scheduled to be played the week commencing January 8.
The reverse fixtures will be held in the week commencing 22.
Bristol City sprang the biggest surprise of the quarter-final ties beating Manchester United to land themselves a plum clash against Pep Guardiola's Premier League table-toppers.
The crowd could not contain themselves at the end with many invading the pitch after the Championship side had overhauled the 20 times Champions and holders of the Carabao Cup.
Korey Smith hooked home an injury-time winner to give Bristol City one of the greatest nights in their history.
Joe Bryan had put the Robins into a shock lead before Zlatan Ibrahimovic had equalled things up.
Cue Smith to send Ashton Gate into raptures.
In tonight's other quarter-final clash, Alvaro Morata climbed off the bench to net an injury-time winner to send Chelsea through.
Willian had given the Blues the lead in the first half before Dan Gosling curled home a beautiful equaliser in the 90th minute.
But just 14 SECONDS later Morata had the last laugh when he prodded past Artur Boruc.
