CARDIFF CITY close the gap at the top of the table with a 4-0 win against ten man Sunderland.
Callum Paterson, Joe Ralls and Anthony Pillkington found the net as Neil Warnock's men returned to winning ways after a string of poor results.
Following a drab first half of football at the Cardiff City Stadium, Paterson broke the deadlock just one minute into the second half.
The defender lost his marker in the box, before he headed home a well delivered corner from Joe Ralls.
To add insult to injury for the visitors, Didier Ndong received a red card just three minutes later for a reckless tackle.
The Bluebirds made the most of the extra man and Ralls doubled the tally after an imposing break from Kenneth Zohore.
Paterson bagged his second in the 80th minute with a left-footed strike, before Anthony Pilkington made it four with the last kick of the game.
