The Celtics’ preseason game Monday night took a turn for the bizarre following a TMI-reveal from legendary announcer Tommy Heinsohn.
While commentating on Boston’s summer acquisition Aron Baynes, Heinsohn said he caught a glimpse of the 6-foot-10 New Zealand native showering.
“I took a look at Baynes in the shower. He looks like all of Australia. He is really put together,” Heinsohn shared.
Heinsohn, 83, known as one of the league’s biggest broadcasting homers, has been connected to the Celtics organization as a player, coach and announcer since they drafted him in 1956.
As for Baynes, the 30-year-old impressed on the court, too, with 10 points and five rebounds in his Celtics debut, contributing to Boston’s 94-82 win over the Charlotte Hornets.
