The singer has told Dan Wootton’s latest Bizarre Life podcast how the pair have secretly buried the hatchet after his on-stage outburst
CHARLIE PUTH is one of the bravest men in music.
Last year he became enemy No1 to Beliebers for yelling “f*** you JUSTIN BIEBER” during a live performance of We Don’t Talk Anymore.
He was supporting his then rumoured squeeze SELENA GOMEZ, Bieb’s on/off girlfriend, who featured on the single.
Now, speaking for the first time about the subsequent fallout with Justin, Charlie has revealed they have secretly buried the hatchet.
In the new edition of my Bizarre Life podcast – which you can subscribe to on iTunes, Apple Podcast or your favourite podcast provider – Charlie told me: “There might have been a lot of emotion that night, a lot of thoughts going through my head and maybe just, sort of, maybe I shouldn’t have said that.
“It’s not really fair to him.
“But we’ve come across each other since then and he posted that he liked my song Attention on his Instagram, so we are good.”
He added: “There’s been a handshake. Yeah.”
Sadly for Charlie, the track We Don’t Talk Anymore now sums up his relationship with Selena.
He explained: “I was friends with her. I haven’t talked to her recently, I know she just went through that kidney transplant.
“That must be gruelling. I haven’t talked to her in a really long time but she seems very happy. I just want her to be very, very happy.”
Charlie has been linked to a host of famous women since breaking into the charts, including HAILEE STEINFELD, MEGHAN TRAINOR and BELLA THORNE. But his latest catch is LOUIS TOMLINSON’s ex-girlfriend, DANIELLE CAMPBELL.
When I asked Charlie about his new squeeze he refused to confirm their status, but admitted that he was “very happy”. However, Charlie was more than happy to talk about his other celebrity crush – LITTLE MIX singer JADE THIRWALL.
He said: “Me and Jade had a bit of a look on The X Factor. But she’s in a relationship, I found out that night. I was onstage singing with them and was like, ‘Ah Jade’s so sexy’. Is it bad I just said that? She’s lovely but she’s taken, for now.”
As well as bagging a string of star girlfriends since he burst on the scene two years ago he has also amassed three Grammy nominations, 21million social-media followers and 3.2billion YouTube views for his track See You Again.
One of his biggest fans is LIAM PAYNE, who he recently worked with on the former ONE DIRECTION singer’s track Bedroom Floor.
Speaking about their madcap first meeting at his house in LA, Charlie said: “Liam’s a big ball of energy and I just remember meeting him and him saying, ‘Is that your roof?’, and I’m like, ‘Yes,’ and he’s like, ‘Mind if I give it a climb?’ And I’m like, ‘What?’
“I’m asking his manager, ‘Where’s Liam?’ He’s like, ‘He’s on your roof. He’s jumped in your pool’.”
He may be rubbing shoulders with some of the biggest names in music, but right now Charlie’s main focus is working on his new album VoiceNotes, which is out in January.
Don’t count on him including a Bieber revenge track now, though.
BRIAN HARVEY’s head may finally grow into his beanie hats after ED SHEERAN revealed EAST 17 inspired his latest music video.
The global superstar dropped the promo for Perfect yesterday, his ode to girlfriend Cherry Seaborn.
And despite the track having no references to Christmas at all, he’s opted for a festive theme, just like Walthamstow’s finest.
Speaking about the video, which stars Beautiful Creatures actress ZOEY DEUTCH as Ed’s love interest, here in my exclusive behind-the-scenes snaps, he said: “Every Christmas you go on a music channel and there’s The Best Christmas Songs, and East 17’s Stay Another Day is in there.
“That’s not a Christmas song but it has snow in the video.
“They’re all in their puffer jackets in the snow and it’s become a Christmas song.
“I’m like, ‘That’s really clever. That gets played every year now because it’s got snow in the video’.
“So, with the Perfect video I thought, right, let’s put snow in it.”
STEPS are having one of the greatest years of their lengthy career with a No2 album and a sold-out UK tour beginning this weekend.
But behind the scenes, band member IAN ‘H’ WATKINS is facing heartbreak after splitting from his partner of a decade.
He started dating actor Craig Ryder in 2007 shortly after he came out, and last year they welcomed twins Macsen and Cybi via surrogate, but the pair have now decided they are better off apart. A source close to the singer said: “Things haven’t been great between them for quite a few months.
“Things have recently come to a head and they have now decided to go their separate ways.
“Obviously it has been a very sad time but they have their sons together so are still in contact.
“H is keeping positive and has been getting lots of support from his bandmates. The tour couldn’t have come at a better time for him.”
He has been hard at work rehearsing with LEE LATCHFORD-EVANS, CLAIRE RICHARDS, FAYE TOZER and LISA SCOTT-LEE for their Party On The Dancefloor tour, which starts in Belfast on Sunday.
If there was ever anything which would cheer me up after a break-up, dancing to Steps hits every night would certainly do the trick.
ANNA KENDRICK and ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER have sent cards to terminally ill Jacob Thompson, nine, who has now received 40,000 Christmas messages. Anna tweeted: “I’m sending a card your way, you handsome devil.”
FRANK SINATRA is returning to the West End . . . sort of.
World renowned tribute act STEPHEN TRIFFITT is kicking off a series of performances in top London hotspots.
The Matinee Shows start next Thursday at Planet Hollywood and will be carrying on through into the new year.

SHANE RICHIE has topped the Amazon country charts with pre-orders for A Country Soul. Officially out today, the album features a song about Shane’s alcoholism that led to the break-up of his marriage to COLEEN NOLAN.
IT was seven years ago that he exploded into the charts with Dynamite – and now TAIO CRUZ is back with storming new tune Row The Body.
Taio, above with me, unleashed his catchy dance track with FRENCH MONTANA today. And speaking about the comeback after a two-year break, he told me at Bizarre HQ: “I just feel like now is the right time to put stuff out. It doesn’t feel like I’ve been away.”
The hitmaker, who has worked with the likes of JUSTIN BIEBER, KYLIE MINOGUE and KESHA, has more tunes lined up, including a potential collaboration with LOUIS TOMLINSON.
He added: “I had a session with Louis in LA earlier this year. We’re hoping to get back in the studio. He seems like a really nice guy so I’m sure we’ll vibe out and come up with something good.”
With two UK No1s with Dynamite and Break Your Heart, the pressure is on.
THE BEE GEES are being celebrated with a new jukebox musical based on their incredible disco tunes. The group’s only surviving member BARRY GIBB will be the executive producer for the as-yet untitled project, after Universal Theatrical Group secured the rights.
SHE has performed with the likes of ANDREA BOCELLI and R. KELLY but CELINE DION’s latest collaboration is even more surprising. She teamed up with electro dance DJ STEVE AOKI for an EDM version of My Heart Will Go On, in Las Vegas earlier this week. Catch him on tour in the UK in January.
IT is one of my favourite albums of the year – and the public clearly love it too. Just three weeks after it was released, PINK’s incredible seventh album Beautiful Trauma, featuring her comeback single What About Us, has already sold well over a million copies. Rightfully so, too.
NORWEGIAN singer-songwriter SIGRID is one of the most exciting new pop stars around and I absolutely love the anthemic dance tune Strangers, which is out today. It is the first track from her as-yet untitled debut album which will be out early next year. I can’t wait to hear it.
