In his online rant, Deontay Wilder appeared to call Anthony Joshua out saying that the Watford-born boxer is either scared or using performance-enhancing drugs
DEONTAY WILDER posted a video online criticising Anthony Joshua for not fighting him.
The American ranted in a video, that he posted on twitter, about the fact that Joshua will not fight him as he is not physically, mentally, or emotionally ready for the challenge.
He begins the video by begging the question, ‘What the hell is going on in the heavyweight division?’
Wilder appears infuriated by Joshua’s latest comments in his interview with Sky, where he said that he wasn’t prepared to rush his career and would do things his way.
The 31-year-old American appeared to goad Joshua in his video rant, perhaps somewhat frustrated at missing out on the payday that went alongside the fight.
In the close-up shot Wilder slowly repeated the statement that he is the most-feared heavyweight in the division and questioned why it would take until 2020 for Joshua to build up the courage to fight him.
Controversially, Wilder appeared to change tactics in a bid to force Joshua’s hand, he said: “It’s either two things, you’re scared or you’re doping”
He said: ” Make the motherf***er fight then, why you scared?”
Just several days ago, Joshua had hinted that he would like to fight Wilder at Wembley, but Joshua has to face Kurbat Pulev in October first- in his mandatory world title defence.
Both men are undefeated, so the fight would certainly draw the crowds, with Deontay the WBC Heavy weight champion boasting 37 KO’s to Joshua’s 19.
Joshua recently acknowledged that Wilder has a head start on him in the professional ranks and explained that the American was a professional boxer before him.
He added: “I started boxing 2018, Wilder turned pro 2009, so he’s been a pro one year longer than my whole career.
“So you can see why they’re rushing him for certain reasons and you can see why I’m taking my time for certain reasons.”
It was perhaps the insinuation that Wilder is getting old, compared to Joshua’s youthful age of 26, that riled the boxer most.
He said: “Don’t you know, this black don’t crack? I’m not getting old no time soon.
“None of these champions want to lose their record.”
