It happened as the mother tried to comfort her heartbroken son in what was supposed to be a touching scene
EASTENDERS fans were left irritated during last night's episode when they spotted a glaring technical gaffe.
As a touching scene between Carmel Kazemi (Bonnie Langford) and her youngest son Shakil (Shaheen Jafargholi) played out over a video game, the moment inspired criticism rather than compassion.
The Walford teenager was earlier on struggling to come to terms with his ex-girlfriend Bex Fowler falling in love with their school teacher, Mr Pryce, Carmel tried to comfort him.
He then went and made things worse by kissing pal Louise Mitchell, who then proceeded to get annoyed.
Following the disastrous day a disheartened Shakil sat down and played some video games. A concerned Carmel came to check on him.
As they chatted she asked if she could join him in a game, but fans were left irritated by a continuity blunder when she picked up a Nintendo Switch controller while Shakil held one for another console.
Despite the whole scene being quite touching, as Carmel reassured her son about his woes, fans of the soap couldn't help but rage about the gaffe.
One tweeter wrote: " 'Show me how this works then.' Well, for starters CARMEL, that's a Nintendo Switch controller you're holding, and Shaki is playing a Playstation. Sort it out BBC, literally unwatchable."
Another added: "The only thing more annoying than Carmel's constant interference is that she doesn't clock that controller is for a different machine."
However others overlooked the error, with one saying: "Carmel and Shaki scenes are always so cute."
Another went further and sided with Shakil, writing: "Feeling really sorry for Shakil at the moment, Bex is not coming across well."
