He also revealed that the players could request photos to have in their rooms with Danny Welbeck and Marcus Rashford both choosing to have a picture of themselves with Lingard.

On his Instagram story, Lingard videoed Welbeck’s room and zoomed in on the picture of the pair together in England gear and said: ‘Welbz, nice one bro.’

Lingard then showed off his own room with a picture of himself with his mother on his bedside table as well as a photo of himself playing football as a child.

In his room Lingard also showed a picture from Manchester United’s end of season awards with Romelu Lukaku, Paul Pogba, grime and hip hop artist Stormzy and Rashford

Hanging on the wall in his hotel room at the World Cup, Lingard also has a sketch of himself

He also showed a picture from United’s end of season awards with Romelu Lukaku, Paul Pogba, grime and hip hop artist Stormzy and Rashford as well as a sketch of himself.

Walking around Rashford’s room, Lingard said: ‘Marcus also got a picture of me in his room’ as he focused in on the United duo together with their tongues out.

Lingard later uploaded another video to his Instagram story of him playing a computer driving game on Tuesday night.

When asked how the players would pass the time in Russia ahead of the tournament, the one word that kept coming up time after time was the popular online video game ‘Fortnite’.

‘There are quite a few lads that love to play it,’ Harry Kane told BBC Radio 5 Live. ‘I’m sure when we have our free time that will be the game.’

Lingard said Fortnite was ‘too hard’ but said he’d be passing the time on PlayStation game Call of Duty.

Kyle Walker posted a video to his Instagram story later on Tuesday at the gym in the hotel.

Alongside his Manchester City team-mate John Stones, Walker wrote: ‘Late night gym’.

Russians security forces stand guard outside the England football team hotel in Repino

The ForRestMix hotel, based in the nearby village of Repino, will be England’s base for the duration of the group stages when they face Tunisia on Monday, Panama on June 24 and Belgium on June 28.

Police lined the road into the leafy Russian village near the Gulf of Finland and stood guard as they waited for England’s team bus to arrive.

The modest four-and-a-half-star hotel selected by England is available this week for guests to stay in for just £122-per-night and players will have little in the way of distractions given it’s location in the sleepy town of Repino.

The 117-room hotel boasts a communal swimming pool and a games room with snooker tables

The modest four-and-a-half-star hotel selected by England also has an in-house gym

The facility is a far cry from the five-star Auberge du Jeu de Paume chateau hotel in France where they stayed for their disastrous European Championship campaign.

The 117-room hotel boasts an in-house gym, communal swimming pool and games room with snooker tables.

However, it is customary for the FA to provide computer games and table tennis tables for the players.

For entertainment outside the complex, the players will have to rely on a wine shop, supermarket and tiny disco.
