LeBron James took issue with ESPN reporter Mark Schwarz’s line of questioning — again — Wednesday after the Cavaliers’ Game 3 loss to the Warriors.
Schwarz asked James to “describe what was in your mind” when he watched Kevin Durant’s late-game 3-pointer go up, an almost identical go-ahead shot to the one Durant hit in Game 3 of the NBA Finals last year.
“I actually think you should be like a psychologist,” James told Schwarz.
“You want to just keep trying to get in somebody’s mind? That’s your whole thing, huh, Mark? What’s in my mind? Miss it, so we can get a rebound.”
The quip came almost a week after James walked off the podium when Schwarz asked him about teammate J.R. Smith’s mental state in the final minutes of Game 1. On his way out, James told the media to “be better tomorrow.”
At the end of Game 1, Smith forgot the Cavs were tied — and not ahead — and dribbled the ball away from the basket after a rebound to burn the final seconds off the clock. The Cavaliers would lose in overtime, and James’ reaction to the play became an instant meme on social media.
