The 17-year-old could still be back at the Etihad in the future thanks to Etihad chiefs’ tough negotiating in his deadline day move
MANCHESTER CITY have agreed a a buy-back option with Borussia Dortmund for Jadon Sancho.
The 17-year-old joined German giants Borussia Dortmund in a shock £7m deal on deadline day.
He had been in a bitter dispute with City for weeks, and was refusing to sign a new contract after a bust-up over a pre-season tour snub.
Despite the deal being hastily thrashed out, Etihad chiefs did manage to insert several clauses into it.
The teenager could return to the North West in the future due to the buy-back option.
That means that should Dortmund ever decide to sell the ace, City can discuss terms with him as long as they match any other fee suitors bid for him.
And that is not the only clause Pep Guardiola’s side insisted on having in the switch.
There is also a sell-on clause for 15 per cent of anything above the £7m fee Dortmund paid for him.
Sancho is seen as one of the stars of the future after impressing for England at the Under-17 World Cup.
He started his youth career at Watford before moving to City for £66,000 with addons aged 14.
The winger is set to make his Dortmund debut this weekend after being recalled from Three Lions duty in India.
