Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho watches Marko Arnautovic in action as Russia lose to Austria

The Portuguese tactician looked to be fully engrossed in proceedings as he prepares to join Russia Today as a pundit for their World Cup coverage.

Intriguingly, reported United target and West Ham target Marko Arnautovic also happened to be on the field during Austria’s 1-0 win.

The versatile winger, who played as a lone striker under David Moyes, set up the only goal of the game as World Cup hosts Russia fell to a third straight defeat following losses to Brazil and France in March.

Mourinho wore a navy ensemble as he sat alone in the stands, completing the look with a trendy baseball cap.

Indeed, it’s as though nobody in the stadium even recognised as the Special One if the empty seats around him were any indication.

At one stage, Mourinho was seen watching the game intently, no doubt brushing up on his knowledge of the Russia side set to open the World Cup against Saudi Arabia on June 14.

And he is sure to have been impressed by Arnautovic’s performance, with the Austrian already enjoying one stint under Mourinho at Inter Milan.

Former Man City boss Manuel Pellegrini has just taken over at the London Stadium and will demand at least £50m to part ways with his key man.
