Manchester United sign Charlie McCann from Coventry after agreeing transfer in September

MANCHESTER UNITED have completed the signing of youngster Charlie McCann from Coventry.

A deal was agreed in September when McCann was just 15.

But the England Under-16 ace has finalised the move and signed a contract with the Red Devils.

Uploading a picture of himself penning the deal at Carrington to Twitter, McCann wrote: "Happy to sign for Manchester United, a new chapter begins."

McCann developed in the Coventry academy and made his international debut in a 2-0 win over Uruguay last year.

Sky Blues boss Richard Stevens said: "When a big football club come knocking, and it is the club that Charlie supports, you must let him go and have that experience.

"We did not want to sell him, we did not need a fee for him even though there was a fee involved.

"He has been unbelievable for us, even making his England debut back in August.

"Charlie goes with complete support from me and the rest of the staff from the Academy."

Academy chief Nicky Butt has seen a number of players sign on recently.

Aliou Traore and Arnau Puigmal signed new contracts this week.

Highly-rated Angel Gomes also penned a deal last month.
