MANCHESTER UNITED starlet Scott McTominay is wanted by a host of Championship clubs on loan next month.
The 21-year-old is regarded as one of United’s brightest young talents and Jose Mourinho is a huge fan of his ability.
He has been training with the first-team for much of the campaign, and has made a handful of appearances in the Champions League and Carabao Cup.
It is thought the Red Devils would like him to get some regular time of the pitch, putting Leeds, Preston and Bolton on alert.
But concerns over some of United’s other midfielders could mean he will stay at Old Trafford and help battle to save their Premier League title bid.
A United source said: “Around five clubs have already asked about Scott and whether he will be available when the window opens.
“Jose has promised to keep him in the loop. He wants him to get action, but there are issues in that area which might stop it.
“Michael Carrick had a heart procedure last month and there is some fitness concerns there which are not sorted yet.
“There is also the worry over Marouane Fellaini and his contract situation with just six-months left.
“We don’t know whether he will still be here come February.”
McTominay, who recently signed a new four-year deal, came through the academy at United after joining aged five.
He has made seven senior appearances for the club, twice in the Premier League, most notability last season against Arsenal.
