Poor Zoe Ball managed to fall too ill to host the show and now viewers want Welsh hunk and former Strictly star Gethin to join the show full-time
POOR Zoe Ball – first she falls ill and now viewers want to see her replaced on Strictly spin-off show It Takes Two.
The television presenter – who has hosted Strictly: It Takes Two since 2011 – was forced to pull out of hosting last night's show when she contracted a nasty stomach bug, but to add insult to injury now viewers want her temporary replacement Gethin Jones to at the very least join her on the show full-time.
"Gethin was fantastic," gushed one fan of the Welshman.
"Can he stay permanently?" she pleaded after watching him do a samba roll – which is apparently not a sandwich – with dance teacher Ian Waite.
Another viewer decided tweeting Zoe to tell her how much they loved her replacement was a nice idea when the poor woman's laid low.
"Oh @ZoeTheBall love ya but these boys are great! Can we find a slot for Geth more often on dance demos?" they tweeted.
A spokesmanfor Zoe revealed she wouldn't be hosting the show last night, saying: "Zoe unfortunately has come down with a nasty stomach bug.
"She is at home resting and hoping to feel better for Blackpool weekend. She is thankful for Gethin for stepping in last minute."
The official Strictly Twitter account tweeted the news that Gethin would be covering for Zoe but presumably they had no idea how beloved he would become.
The tweet read: "Gethin Jones will be stepping in to present Strictly's It Takes Two on BBC Two tonight and tomorrow.
"Get well soon Zoe!"
But not too soon – viewers do love Gethin after all.
