The songstress failed to win a single prize at the MTV EMAs last weekend despite being the most nominated act
TAYLOR SWIFT’s new album is called Reputation – and she has certainly earned herself one.
She takes aim at enemies KATY PERRY and KANYE WEST plus ex-boyfriends CALVIN HARRIS and TOM HIDDLESTON on the album — but it isn’t just them she has annoyed.
Her disrespect to fellow artists has infuriated key figures in the industry including members of the Grammys jury, which could ruin her chances at the 2018 awards in January.
An industry insider revealed: “A lot of people on the voting committee are not liking Reputation at all.
Taylor wants to win as many awards as possible but has rubbed so many people up the wrong way in the last couple of years.
“A lot of the jury members have worked with Katy, Calvin and Kanye so when Taylor has tried to humiliate them, it has left a bad taste. Ultimately she may pay for that when it comes to winning awards.”
Taylor also did not help herself in June by putting her back catalogue back on Spotify on the same day Katy released her album Witness.
Taylor had previously snubbed the streaming service in protest over how much stars get paid for streams.
My source added: “Taylor has to understand that the industry is small, and moves like sabotaging Katy’s album hurt people behind the scenes who work hard to make an album happen.
“How Taylor thinks the industry is going to give its full support to her after she’s tried to damage so many people is mad.”
She failed to win a single prize at the MTV EMAs last weekend despite being the most nominated act with six nods, including for Best Video for her August No1 hit Look What You Made Me Do.
Over the past ten years she has won ten Grammys, including three in 2016 for her album 1989 and video for her single Bad Blood.
Nominations for the 2018 ceremony are out on Tuesday next week, with ED SHEERAN and THE WEEKND set to star.
Taylor is also expected to figure although her latest album is not eligible due to its release date this month. It will however be in the running for the 2019 Grammys.
In the words of Taylor herself: Baby, let the games begin.
IT may be 20 years since they first formed – but STEPS are looking better than ever at their reunion shows.
CLAIRE RICHARDS, and bandmates IAN ‘H’ WATKINS and FAYE TOZER, LISA SCOTT-LEE and LEE LATCHFORD-EVANS dazzled in red as their Party On The Dancefloor tour hit Liverpool’s Echo Arena.
Following the release of latest album Tears On The Dancefloor, their comeback is proving a big hit, but even Claire can barely believe their success.
She wrote on Instagram: “Who would have thought 20 years ago anyone would even remember who we were today, let alone still buy tickets in their droves to see us silly lot do our thing for two hours?”
Their tour will hit Newcastle tonight before heading to Leeds, Brighton and London later in the week.
I can’t wait to see it.
FROM No1 singles to sold-out tours, SHAWN MENDES’ career is going from strength to strength. But now he is determined to top it by making the best album of his career – with the help of a few famous friends. In an exclusive chat, he said: “I’ve been off writing the album for about a month. I’m exploring trying to make better music than I’ve ever made and having fun with it. The sound is a hybrid. I probably have about 35 songs. There’s a couple of collaborations I’ve worked on so we’ll see.”
Shawn, who I revealed is dating model HAILEY BALDWIN, is also keen to get in the studio with Brit DJ JONAS BLUE. He said: “He’s awesome. I think we’re going to work together. We just never get around to the timing part.”
With more time away from touring in the new year, I’m sure they can get it on.
FORMER Queen of the Jungle STACEY SOLOMON probably thought her days of Bushtucker trials were long behind her. But I put her through a gruesome challenge for an exclusive video on my Facebook.
I invited her in to watch classic I’m A Celeb moments and rustled up some Bushtucker popcorn – which she had to take a handful of every time someone screamed or gagged in the clips. And despite munching pig’s brain on the show, Stacey struggled with the snack of locusts, crickets, mealworms and buffalo worms, provided by Crunchy Critters.
Although it was probably the clip of boyfriend and Extra Camp host JOE SWASH scoffing crocodile penis that most turned her stomach.
WORKING on Mission: Impossible 6 is proving as difficult as the mission itself for TOM CRUISE.
Production was halted for four months in August after the actor broke his ankle while filming a stunt in London.
But Tom returned to work just seven weeks later – and now bosses have again pushed back filming, into the new year, as his ankle is not fully healed.
A source said: “Tom came back early but it has proven to be a mistake. The original plan had been for production to resume in December, and they wish they had done that now.
“Tom isn’t back to his best yet and they don’t want to rush filming until then, so nothing else will be done until next year. It’s a big setback – lots of production work has been cancelled.”
It is now very unlikely the film will be out here on July 27, 2018, as planned – and the delay could also affect Tom’s filming of Top Gun: Maverick, due to start early next year.
Best to let a stunt double do the dangerous tricks in future, Tom.
RAYE has won a legion of fans with her singles You Don’t Know Me and By Your Side. And she gained a few more on a night out in Cuba after flying there to film her new video for latest single Decline earlier this month. She proved such a hit at Havana bar Roma that they closed it for two nights to get her to shoot the clip there, despite losing all those takings.
The last-minute change of venue certainly paid off though, as you will see in the video which is released today. She is now hard at work on her debut album. If it’s anything like this tune, it will be amazing.
