We know that we don’t need it, we’re pretty sure that we don’t really want it, but yet another reboot is on its way – and this time, it’s in the form of Critters.
Yes, the cult ’80s horror classic that wasn’t quite as good as Gremlins is getting a TV series remake for streaming network go90.
According to Collider, the live-action series will be called Critters: A New Binge (self-aware – we like it), and will be directed by Zombeavers‘ Jordan Rubin, who will also executive produce and write the series alongside Jon and Al Kaplan.

Fans of the original needn’t worry that the remake may lose any of its famous… bite, though, because franchise producers Rupert Harvey and Barry Opper are also on board.
And if all of this ’80s, ’90s horror comedy talk has got you feeling nostalgic and reaching for your Gremlins VHS, you’ll be pleased to hear that a third film is on its way.
Just last year writer Chris Columbus revealed that the third movie will return to the darker tone of the original movie, and will be a sequel – not a remake.
“I’m really proud of the script. It is as twisted and dark as anything, so we’ll see,” he admitted, before hinting that Gremlins star and cuddly icon Gizmo might be killed off.
Now that is dark.
