Emmerdale’s Amy Walsh revealed her shock at finding out her co-stars Charley Webb and Matthew Wolfenden were getting married [ITV]
Emmerdale star Amy Walsh revealed the stunning moment she and her co-stars found out about Charley Webb and Matthew Wolfenden’s surprise wedding.
The couple, who play Debbie Dingle and David Metcalfe respectively, started dating after meeting on the set of the ITV soap back in 2007, and have since had two children, Buster, 7, and Bowie, 2.
Keeping the whole ceremony under wraps, the acting duo decided not even to tell their guests that they were about to be wed, instead pretending they were attending to celebrate Charley’s 30th birthday.
The pair’s one hundred guests were only let in on the surprise when they arrived at Ripley Castle, in Harrogate, and discovered that a wedding was taking place instead.

And speaking about the shock moment on Lorraine, Amy – who plays Matthew’s on-screen wife Tracy Metcalfe – revealed just how shock she and her fellow guests were.
She told the host: “What a nice surprise! We thought it was Charley’s 30th, we were all just stood there having drinks and then they made this announcement and were like ‘yeah, we’re about to get married in the room next door’ and we were like ‘aaaah!’
“So yeah, it was a brilliant night, it was a really really wonderful night.”
Speaking about seeing the wedding pictures exclusively in OK! Magazine, Amy went on to reveal about just how close she and her Emmerdale co-stars are.

She explained: “I was just looking at the magazine the wedding was in this morning and literally every single cast member on that page we wee like…I just love everyone on that page, it’s mental!”
Speaking exclusively to OK! Magazine about her big day, Charley said: “That moment when we announced what we were doing and seeing everybody’s reaction is the best moment of my life”.
“This way we got to do it totally the way we wanted – it wasn’t traditional, we didn’t have a sit-down meal and there weren’t loads of speeches.
“Someone once told me their friend had a surprise wedding and it stuck in my mind.”
