TV favourites Ant and Dec are thought to have crashed the National Television Awards website with their their last-minute plea to get fans to vote for them at tonight’s glittering ceremony.
On Monday the Ant and Dec Twitter account, which boasts over six million followers, tweeted: "Less than 24 hours to vote for all your favourites at the @OfficialNTAs.
"Vote closes at noon tomorrow."
The National Television Awards official website crashed shortly after, reports Daily Star
And it wasn’t long before TV fans took to Twitter to vent their anger after they were left unable to cast their votes.
One shared: "Still trying vote but NTA site is still down!!! Is it a conspiracy!!”
Another said: “I have been trying to vote on #NTA #awards but says come back later.”
An NTA spokesperson refused to confirm if the crash had anything to do with the tweet, but said: “There were some issues on certain operating systems but they were soon resolved.”
Ant, 42, and Dec, 42, are up for four trophies on the night and will take on Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield to be voted the nation’s favourite presenting duo at the annual bash.
Both pairs are up for the coveted TV Presenter title ), with Bradley Walsh also in contention.
The Geordie duo are reigning champions, having won the title for a record-breaking 16 years.
