Elizabeth Olsen has weighed in on the Hollywood gender pay gap.
The actress can next be seen in Wind River and Ingrid Goes West – but before that, she played Scarlet Witch in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Age Of Ultron.
Speaking about her experience on the movies, she revealed that while she didn’t know the exact figures of her co-stars such as Robert Downey Jr and Mark Ruffalo, she did know she earned less then them.
During the interview, she also revealed that figuring out her worth as a smaller-name actress in the predominantly male-dominated landscape that is the Marvel Cinematic Universe proved quite the challenge.
“I don’t always get paid equally,” she told The Telegraph, “but then I also haven’t had multiple [award] nominations.
“I don’t know how much weight I carry, I don’t know how to value myself.”
While Olsen may not know how to value herself, she certainly is one of the most talented actresses working today and has starred in a number of films that have met critical and commercial success.
Olsen broke out onto screens in Martha Marcy May Marlene which was nominated for a number of awards, before later going on to star in the second Avengers movie.
With her millennial stalker flick Ingrid Goes West attracting praise at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, and Wind River picking up solid reviews, we daresay her Avengers: Infinity War pay check will bump her Marvel salary quite nicely.
